Introducing Erma's Delight Tea Room

Mrs. Erma Miller is hosting the tea room in The Christmas House this 2010 season.
Come enjoy a cup of tea, coffee, or homemade lemonade as you wonder at all the amazing creations by local craftsmen and women showcased in The Christmas House.
Join that with one of Erma's famous desserts, rolls, or wonderful lunches.
Erma is known throughout the area as a wonderful baker.  Her breads just melt in your mouth and desserts are out of this world.  Yesterday my 9 yr old daughter and I were treated to one of her decadent chocolate desserts and a glass of home made lemonade.
How wonderful!
Thank You Erma!

Lunch in the Tea Room at Rainbows End Christmas House 2008

A group enjoying a special Birthday lunch in the Tea Room

It was a cold and blustery day when they arrived, but the wood stove kept us all cozy in the Christmas House Cottage.

Our guests enjoyed a variety of things from our menu.
~
All the mushrooms (and as much of the produce as possible for this time of year) are grown by us ~ Willow Mountain Mushroom Farm ~ organically.
~
From the 2008 menu offered by Willow Mountain Mushrooms Shroom Shack:

Appetizer: Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms $3.50
New: Quesadillas served with your choice of fillings ~ mushrooms, sauteed onions, sauteed peppers, chicken, and cheese ~ served with a side of salsa $3.50
~
Beverages include hot or cold apple cider, hot teas (a variety of herbals, regular, black, and more), Iced teas (sweet or regular), Hot Cocoa, and coffee $1.00 each with free refills on hot coffee and teas
~
Home Made Soups: Portabella Chili or Chicken and Veggies with Brown Rice (this one may change from weekend to weekend, but we try to keep Portabella Chili on the menu every weekend)
$3.00 ~ Bowl or $2.00 ~ Cup
~
Main Dishes: Grilled Portabella Wrap (our portabellas grilled and cubed topped with sauteed sweet onion and sweet peppers, diced tomatoes, shredded cucumber, mayo , and freshly grated Cabot Cheddar Cheese Served on a fajita wrap.)

Chicken Salad Sandwich on Toasted Sour Dough Bread (all white meat chicken with grapes and mayo dressing sweetened with a touch of honey.)
~
And Stuffed Mushrooms.

~
Or enjoy a bowl of soup with half a sandwich of your choice either chicken salad or toasted cheese for $5.00.
~
Meals for the children (or adults) include:
Toasted Cheese or PB & J made into a meal with chips, and a cookie for $4.00
~
Fresh ~ Made from Scratch Desserts have included such things as:
Crazy Crust Apple Pie, Cinnamon Streusel Coffee Cake, Three Layer Carrot Cake, Spice Cake with Apples, Bread Pudding with a special vanilla sauce drizzled on top, and Pumpkin Cake with cream cheese frosting.
I plan to offer a chocolate jelly roll cake, brownies, and fudge in the future.
$2.00 for a generous slice
And for a little something to take home with you we offer a sweet ~ moist Hawaiian Banana Bread and Cookies that vary from weekend to weekend from Banana Cookies, to Chocolate Chip, to Oatmeal and Raisin as well as White and Whole Wheat Hearth and Country Breads made the old fashioned way (no mixers). Feel free to place a special order for any of these in advance. I bake breads, cakes and cookies on Thursday. Bread Pudding, Coffee Cakes, and Crazy Crust Apple Pie are baked right before I arrive at Christmas House so that they arrive warm straight out of the oven.
~
From our neighbor, Ms. Erma's kitchen, you found coconut creme pie, chocolate creme pie, apple pie, berry pie, cakes, and sour dough bread.
~
And you can top the breads off with special jams or jellies made by our other neighbor ~ Ms. Carol of Davis Gardens. Who also has some wonderful gift baskets made up with her jams and jellies. One of our families favorites is the Banana Nut Bread Butter. It is a secret recipe that Ms. Carol developed herself.
~
Due to the needs of our growing family and business Willow Mountain Mushrooms is no longer serving in the tea room. Mrs Erma Miller has taken over with Erma's Delight. And boy is it delicious!
